All Asian Countertrade, Inc. was founded in 1994 with the vision of creating a world-class Filipino trading company to help reduce the market risk of Filipino sugar producers and industrial users. Since then, the company has grown to become a major player in the Philippine sugar industry.
We have also diversified our product offerings to better serve our customers as the company now offers: molasses, ethanol, corn, rice, inulin, copra, coconut oil and other food products.
As the company expanded, new businesses were established in order to enhance our ability to provide sugar to our clients. In 1996, we established our own logistics company to have complete control over our sugar deliveries. In 2001, we imported a sugar mill from Okinawa, Japan to increase the efficiency of sugar milling in Pampanga, thus ensuring the province’s sugar planting viability. These initiatives have made All Asian one of the largest and most formidable sugar traders in the country.
As the company expanded, new businesses were established in order to cater to the other needs of its customers. It boasts of its own logistics company to ensure the satisfaction of its customers.
As AACI’s 30th year is fast approaching, it continues its journey to fulfill its mission of raising the quality of life for the Filipino people.

Michael L. Escaler started his career in 1972 when he left the Philippines for New York City. He spent a year at Nissho Iwai before joining ACLI International, a commodities trading company. It was in ACLI where Michael was mentored by a renowned sugar trader, Gerry Ascher. At the age of 27, he was assigned to head the Sugar Department in London, being the youngest Vice President in the whole organization.
He returned to the Philippines 22 years later and founded All Asian Countertrade, Inc. with Louis Dreyfus, Nissho Iwai and Julio Sy, Sr.

Within a couple of years, Michael returned to the Philippines and established All Asian Countertrade, Inc. in 1994. Started from sugar trading, the company has made relevant and capable partnerships exploring opportunities that paved the way to trade other commodities.
